Today I am reviewing the Nitecore MT25 Multi-Task LED Flashlight. The MT series flashlights are a new line of highly versatile and practical illumination tools designed for a multitude of users and environments A sleek, robust body finely etched with extensive knurling and a perfect finish are hallmarks of this range, but even more important is the highly practical and usable user-interface which makes selecting modes a breeze.
The Nitecore MT25 Flashlight essentially has two modes: high mode (100% output) and custom mode. High mode is accessed by tightening the flashlight head while any of one of the four customization modes (strobe, low, medium and high) are selected by loosening the flashlight head and rapidly pressing the on/off switch to cycle through the modes.
A given mode can be saved by simply turn off the light while in that mode. Real-world examples include: When used as a flashlight around the house, the head can be loosened and low level selected in custom mode, providing long run times at a lower light intensity.
The same flashlight could then by taken out and used a law-enforcement duty light, with user-defined mode set in strobe, making it easy to alternate between high mode and strobe with a simple twist of the flashlight head.
Another neat thing about these Nitecore MT series flashlights, you can tail stand them. It's such a great convenience when you're working on something that requires both hands. This particular feature came to good use when I was working under the kitchen sink and needed both hands and some light. There are tons of situations where this could come in great use where as other competitor lights just don't design their lights to tail stand.
Here are some night shots with the Nitecore MT25 Flashlight.
My final conclusion on the Nitecore MT25 Flashlight: In my opinion this is a great light for it's size. It offers a good size to output ratio and can be used in a slew of different task whether it be a light you keep around the house or a light you can use in law-enforcement roles. While it may not be the brightest light I've reviewed, at 390 lumens this light packs a punch for it's size. If you may need more light, the Nitecore MT26 Flashlight may be right up your alley. The machined knurling on these Nitecore MT series lights allow you to get a firm non-slip purchase on the light, even in wet conditions. And as I mentioned earlier, the fact that these lights tail stand so easily is great since there are many times when I was either working on something around the house, or on my Jeep where I needed two hands.
