Looking for a great flashlight to toss in your car, edc bag or just keep around the house? This streamlight protac 2AA light would be a great choice. I've been carrying this light off and on for the better half of six months now. It was the first pen light I bought and I was skeptical if it would fit into my EDC system since I am accustom to carrying a Fenix PD20 which is very compact. This light which being a little bigger is still easily management to carry every day.
This is an awesome light for edc or any use. At 120 lumens it is just ridiculously bright. It has a focused white beam. It has three modes: high, low and strobe. Best thing is it takes AA batteries. As you know AA style batteries are just about anywhere you go unlike CR123 or 18650 batteries. So that makes this light a great choice for a person who travels.
The body is constructed out of 6000 series machined aircraft aluminum with an anodized finish, and it has an O-ring sealed, impact-resistant tempered glass lens. Some other neat features about the Protac 2AA is the removable pocket clip, anti-roll head, and the multi-function rubber push-button tail switch.
One Click - High 120 lumens
Two Clicks - Strobe
Three Clicks - Low 14 lumens
The Protac 2AA comes with a nice nylon sheath that can be attached to a belt or molle webbing. The sides of the sheath are elastic, so the fit is pretty snug.
My final conclusion on the Streamlight ProTac 2AA: This light is great. The only thing I see that would be an improvement, is if you could go from high mode to low mode without having to go through strobe. Other than that this light rocks. It's super bright for a pen light and perfectly sized. For the price you can't go wrong. It's definitely worth trying out.
